This popular 10K trail run through the hills of Camp Horno features amazing views of Camp Pendleton’s mountains and meadows as you traverse through actual training areas.

MCBCP Active Duty $10*
Active duty receives a t-shirt and finisher medal

Non-Active Duty $20*
(Age limit: 13+)
Finisher medal and option to purchase a t-shirt for $10 if available

 

*T-shirts available for the first 300 participants..  Sizes are first come first served.

8:30am T-shirt sales and Registration opens. Credit cards/cash only.

10:00am RACE Start

11:00am Top 3 Overall Award Ceremony 

12:00pm – Course Closure

Driving Directions

Las Pulgas Entrance:  From Interstate 5, take the Las Pulgas exit and head east towards the Las Pulgas gate. Continue on Las Pulgas and then turn LEFT at Basilone Road and head North to reach Camp Horno (53 Area)

Main Gate Entrance:  From the main gate, stay on Vandegrift 8 miles until you reach Basilone Road.  Turn LEFT and proceed North past Las Pulgas Road to reach Camp Horno (53 Area)

Rules & Regulations:

  • Minimum participant age is 13 for 10K.
  • Absolutely no headphones/ear buds allowed
  • Service and working dogs only
  • Event held rain or shine (unless deemed unsafe)
  • Pendleton Races has the right to modify the course if necessary for safety or base training exercise
  • All competitors must be off the course by 11:30am

Base Entry and Race Eligibility Requirements

Authorized Base Patrons only are allowed to enter the base and participate.  An active duty ID card, dependent card, retiree ID card, DoD-authorized identification card, or a CAC card must be presented to the Gate Guard to enter the base and register for the race.   

The general public, guests of base patrons, contractors and other non-base patrons with DBIDS cards are not eligible to race.

Post Race:

Awards

This race will not be timed. We will have a running clock for you to check your own time as you cross the finish line. Awards will be given for the first 3 males and first 3 females across the line.
If you are unable to stay for the awards ceremony, please contact the race office at (760) 725-RACE to make arrangements to pick up your award at the Race Office.  (Bldg 1253 – Mainside)
